JazzU

With the help of our charitable donors and foundations, JazzU places talented middle and high school musicians in small jazz combos, which meet weekly between September and May. Students not only get the benefit of working with JazzU faculty, but also the opportunity to meet and work with musicians participating in the Jazz St. Louis Artist Residency Program.

Student Eligibility
To be eligible to attend JazzU, students must be in any grade 6-12 and attend a school in the St. Louis Metro area (Missouri/Illinois).

Tuition & Fees

We are able to offer accepted students scholarships that cover the cost of participation in the program. These scholarships allow us to keep JazzU free for all students.

Auditions
Auditions will take place July 19-22, 2020, between 3 and 9 pm at the Harold and Dorothy Steward Center for Jazz, 3536 Washington Ave., St. Louis, MO 63103. Click Here for more information about auditioning and audition materials.

Membership & 2021-22 Application

Applications will be available for the 2021-22 JazzU Program will be available starting March 15. Auditions will be held on July 19-22, 2021.

Jazz St. Louis All-Stars

The Jazz St. Louis All-Stars comprises the top students in the JazzU program. Placement in this group is a result of JazzU auditions in the spring. The All-Star ensemble serves as JSL’s cultural ambassadors at many area events.
